The WP Late Night Show From WordCamp Spain 2021 Is Awesome

As I usually do, I was keeping an eye on Twitter and saw someone post a link to a video called WP Late Night. Intrigued, I clicked the link and watched a video of two people associated with WordCamp Spain conducting a late-night television show but in WordPress style.

The hosts of the show are Nora Ferreirós and Nahuai Badiola and in the episode I watched, there was an interview, a segment with Adrián de Grafreak who went on the street to ask people if they knew what WordPress was, and the show wrapped up with another interview. At the end of both interviews, the hosts and guests played a game where they had to guess which WordCamp City belonged to the Wapuu that was displayed. I thought it was a pretty cool game and I managed to get two of the questions right.

The show is hosted in Spanish but thanks to YouTube’s closed captioning, I was able to follow along with most of the show. But during the last interview, the closed captioning was in Spanish so I couldn’t follow along anymore, but I watched anyway.

I thought it was fascinating to actually see people turning an idea John James Jacoby and I have discussed into a reality. He and I would talk at length about how cool it would be to have a late-night show with a comfy couch, guests, and a laid-back atmosphere where laughing is encouraged. And, John thought the show was amazing too.

If you haven’t watched it yet, please check out episode one of the WP Late Show and let me know what you think!

  1. Hi!! Thanks for watching us 😉

I’m Mr Someone, the person who interviewed people in the street XD

We hope see you this evening on the second part. Will Matt come to the program? We don’t know yet.

    Cheers!

    • Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I’ve updated the post to include your name as the someone 🙂 I really enjoyed your segment and would love to see something like it done here in the states.

  2. Thank you for your kind evaluation of our experiment. The technical manager has been Francesc Barbero with the collaboration of Nilo Vélez and Julio de la Iglesia. Together with me we have been responsible for the streaming of many WordCamps in Spanish during the pandemic and we wanted to take a step further for the WordCamp Spain Online 2021. We are very happy to know that it has been so well received by the public.
